You are exactly right on !!! One of the things I learned about Character Studies they portray real people doing real things in the real world ! Portraits are usually a pre meditated plan to present your subject in the most favorable pose. Creepy, I have to learn that a good Character Study is usually the result of good direction !!! The pic you have sent me was commissioned by the government during the great depression. If I am not mistaken it was taken by a woman photographer. From about 1900 to the mid fifties there were so many great female photographers. Have you been following what is going on with Annie Leibowitz ? I love talking about the arts with you too !! I have to run right now, but I will get back on later.:)

I want to thank you for your encouragement. And I will see Paris. We were talking about what I want to do right now with my photography. I want to do Character studies of peoples faces especially Black people. I know their is so much I could tell, However, these kind of Character studies have been done to death. I don't want to do portraits just Character studies !! Do you know where I am coming from ? I want lines and wrinkles and spirits, especially spirits. I want to photograph the Spirituality in their eyes. I want bore you any longer. You need to go to bed. Talk in the morning.:)

If editors are anything like bosses and managers, I haven't known one that didn't call everyone lazy and a lie and who didn't do every other mean thing. So maybe it could be worse ?? Hang in there.. :)

Creepy, Paris is where the creative aspect of photography took hold. Artists like Man Ray, and Henri Bresson in the early part of the last century helped to make photography an art form. I love paris too and everything French!! That includes Food & Wine. I have never been there but hope too. Hang in there !!!.:)

No problem Creepy, you responded to my last comment and You made me feel better!!! When you get a chance send me yuor web address I would like to follow your work. I will do the same. Love the Guillotine pic you sent me. I wrote a paper on it in school. Most people seeit as such a " Gruesome " machine, when in reality it was " merciful" compared to being drawn and quartered !!!! Have an awesome weekend, my friend !!.:)

Oddly enough Creepy, right now I am working on a series of various Church and Cathedral Steeples. The ones that really project into the sky. Doesn't sound like me, does it ? I have the same problem with other photographers that think they have the market on creativity. When I look at other photographers work, I am actually looking at what I don't want to do !! Do you know what I mean ? I want my voice to come out !! Not someone elses. But you are right I do my share of moody and dark. I love the moon pic you sent !! I also try to put sensuality in my photography. I believe Horror and Sensuality can co exist. This past weekend I did a phto shoot of a deserted Catholic hospital that looks so creepy and haunted and has potential. My wife says I am better than I realize. I am my own worst critic. This winter I will be entering Juried competition. I hope I have given you some insight to a Headless man. lol.:)

Creepy, The one problem I Have as an amateur photog it takes a lot of shots to find what you want. We all have problems at times with creativity and I am sure you do to. But for the life of me, you come up with alot of good stuff. Keep it up and hopefully it will inspire me and my photography. Have a Spooktacular day, my friend !!!.:)
