The 81st Movie Night

Tonight's movie is titled "Hannibal Rising". Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgement. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Tonight's movie is titled "Hannibal Rising" (2007 Rated R Director Peter Webber) Plotline: Based on Thomas Harris' book of the same name, this prequel shows a young future serial killer Hannibal Lecter in three different phases of his life from childhood in Lithuania to his ten years in England up to his time in Russia before his capture by FBI agent Will Graham in the film Red Dragon.

Great movie - I loved it! The beginning is incredibly sad - young Hannibal's parents being killed, then his sister who was later eaten by the SS militiamen. At least he was able to escape and, years later, leave the orphange (in his former family home) and take refuge with his aunt in France. What he did to the butcher who insulted her was bloody, but she covered for him by placing the butchers' severed head on the spike in town and he was able to escape suspicion by the police - that time. Enrolling in medical school taught Hannibal what to do with bodies! The dreams and flashbacks he had about his sister throughout the movie were incredibly sad, he loved her so much. He wanted his revenge on those responsible for her death - first by travelling back to Lithuania and killing Dortlich, then drowning Milko in the embalming fluid after his aunt persuades him not to kill Kolnas. The police inspector once again suspected Hannibal, but was unable to prove his guilt, later remarking that Hannibal had lost his humanity and has become a monster. His aunt tried to persuade him not to seek revenge on those who killed his sister, but he made a promise to his sister that he would. Hannibal then tried to kill Grutas by placing a bomb in his house, but Grutas survived and Hannibal escpaed unharmed. After tricking Kolnas and later killing him by implaing him with the sword, Hannibal got his revenge on Grutas (who had kidnapped his aunt and claimed he, too, had ate his sister) by slashing his achilles tendons, carving an "M" in his chest and biting off his cheeks. The ending was great - after his aunt fled the houseboat, which later erupted in flames - Hannibal survived to hunt down the last member of the gang. Thank you for posting this!
