The 62'nd Movie Night

Tonight's movie is titled "Solstice". Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgement. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Tonight's movie is titled "Solstice" (2008 Rated PG-13 Directed by Daniel Myrick who Directed, The Blair Witch Project) Plotline: Her twin sister Sofie’s (Elisabeth Harnois) unexplained suicide has taken a very hard toll on Megan (Elisabeth Harnois). She’s been completely distraught and unable to move on with life, but she reluctantly decides to go on an annual trip with her friends. Every year, they take a trip to a lake house in the Louisiana bayous during the summer solstice. Once they get there, Megan starts to feel a strange presence. Since the solstice is the one time that this world and the next are closest, she begins to believe Sofie is trying to communicate with her. Soon, she realizes that the presence is not her sister, and the advent of solstice brings with it sinister secrets and horrifying events.

It sounds complicated but not Silent Hill movie complicated, just strange mystery complicated. I'm glad you liked it.

Great movie, dark and eerie. The ending explained everything that had been happening, things Megan at first thought was her sister Sophie - the black shadow, the strange dreams of muddy hand and footprints, the keychain that kept reappearing (even after burying it), what she saw after being drug under the water during the Solstice ritual, etc...but it wasn't. Megan and the others didn't know it was actually Christian and Sophie who had accidentally killed Leonard's granddaughter then buried her in the bayou, which is probably why Sophie killed herself later on, she couldn't deal with what happened. After being led to discover the little girl's body, Megan relaized something wasn't right when the key she thought was her sister's unlocked the little girls' bike chain. The ending scenes were eerie - Christian going insane with the gun, running through the woods after Megan and coming accross the dead little girl. I liked this, thanks for posting it :)
