Halloween Horrors

A Meeting Place For Everyone That Loves Horror Movies And Halloween Topics

Tonight's movie is titled "The Wicker Man". Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgement. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Enjoy tonights movie :)

Tonight's film is titled "The Wicker Man" (2006 Rated PG-13, Director Neil LaBute)
Plot: While recovering from a tragic accident on the road, the patrolman Edward Malus (Nicolas Cage) receives a letter from his former fiancée Willow, who left him years ago without any explanation, telling that her daughter Rowan is missing. Edward travels to the private island of Summerisle, where Willow lives in an odd community that plant fruits, and she reveals that Rowan is actually their daughter. Along his investigation with the hostile and unhelpful dwellers, Edward discloses that the locals are pagans, practicing old rituals to improve their harvest, and Rowan is probably alive and being prepared to be sacrificed. When he locates the girl, he finds also the dark truth about the wicker man.

One of the eeriest scenes was after the little girl, Rowan, had tricked Malus into running back to the field where the group had gathered and they later assaulted him...then took a hammer and smashed his legs (and the bees...I"m allergic to them so the scene where they poured the bees into the helmet covering his head made me cringe a little). It's too bad he didn't realize sooner that Willow - and the whole colony - had tricked him into going to the island, which was a strange place with strange residents! I've always liked Ellen Burstyn and she played the role of evil Sister Summersisle perfectly. Thanks for posting this :)
