Halloween Horrors

A Meeting Place For Everyone That Loves Horror Movies And Halloween Topics

Tonight's movie is titled " Sleepless" . Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgment. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Enjoy tonights movie :)

Tonight's movie is titled " Sleepless" (2001 Rated R, Director Dario Argento)
Plot: In Turin, 1983. A retired police commissioner Moretti (Max von Sydow) tells to a boy: "I'll catch the killer of your mother, I'll catch him for all my life". Same town, 17 years later. The murderer is back (he is not dead, as people thought for a long time), he attacks two girls and a long strip of blood begins. The boy now is an adult and when he meets the old Moretti they decide to close the case forever. To do it they must solve the puzzles of the killer, nicknamed The Dwarf: where the corpses are found, there is always a piece of paper with the form of an animal. And in a mysterious house is hidden a poem titled "The Animal Farm" but it's not the Orwell novel... it's a clue.

I thought - and hoped - that he would have...His character was close, though, to solving it before his heart gave out.

I supposed that Max Von Sydow's character would be the one to make it to the end of film to solve the mystery.

I didn't expect this movie to end the way it did - and finding out who the actual killer turned out to be...! That was suspenseful. (And it wasn't The Dwarf...) The scene at the end, when the police arrived and shot Lorenzo in the head through the window, looked realistic! And bloody, too, like the other deaths - the woman aboard the train who had her fingers cut off (and that woman's friend later killed while inside her car at the train station), the woman who rain into the apartment building and had her head smashed into the wall, Leone and Lorenzo's father shot...Max Von Sydow was excellent in this movie, his character - the retired policeman Moretti - was great. It was too bad that his character died as well, though it was from natural causes (it was sad to see . Thanks for posting this, I really liked it :)
