Tonight's movie is titled "The Messengers". Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgment. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Enjoy tonights movie :)
Tonight's movie is titled "The Messengers" (2007 Rated PG-13 Directors Oxide Pang Chun Danny Pang) Plotline: A Chicago-based family comprised of Roy (Dylan McDermott), his wife, Denise (Penelope Ann Miller), their teenage daughter, Jess (Kristen Stewart), and young son, Ben try to put the hard times behind them with a move to a picturesque farmhouse in North Dakota. Jess quickly becomes convinced that the house is haunted after some peculiar occurrences while she's alone there with young Ben. But Ben can't articulate what he's seen, and Jess's story is met with skepticism by her parents. But as the ghosts torment their new residents, Jess does a little research on the old farmhouse and discovers a few secrets that may just hold the key to why this is all happening.

Sounds a bit like "Stir Of Echoes" being that the children experience the ghosts more than the adults. Yhis year seems to be filled with serial killers and ghosts. Every Halloween has it's own trends, flavor,. spirit or whatever.
I really liked this movie - it was dark and eerie, especially the scenes when the ghostly apparitions were tormenting Jess (and her brother Ben). The parents didn't believe her about the hauntings at first - even after her repeated warnings to them about what was happening, calling 911 when she was alone with her brother, and even after the ghostly girl attacked her in the barn and she was taken to the hospital. They didn't believe her until after her mother witnessed the dead mother (of the previous family who lived there) coming out of the bloodstain in the wall. I wasn't expecting the farmhand (who, as it turns out, was actually the father of the family who had lived and died there previously) to attack the mother before and after she fled into the basement with Ben, or to have stabbed the father in the back with a pitchfork. (The visions/flashbacks the farmhand had were strange...) In the end, though, everything turned out fine for the family - the farmhand had died, the father recovered from his stabbing, the crows flew away and the farm prospered. And the hauntings ended. Thanks for posting this :)
