Tonight's movie is titled "Shrooms". Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgement. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Enjoy tonights movie :)
Tonight's film is titled "Shrooms" (Made in Ireland, Denmark and the UK, Unrated in the USA Director Paddy Breathnach) Plot: Five American college students arrive in Ireland to go on a camping trip with a college buddy Jake, they are in high spirits. Jake has promised them the "trip of a lifetime" because he claims Ireland has the best magic mushrooms in the world. It sounded like it would be great fun. Now that they are tripping things don't seem so funny. Bluto, one of the gang is missing. Tara thinks he's dead because she feels she has seen his death before but nobody believes her they think she is just out of it. They're out of it too. That was the whole point of coming here, but there is something out there, something watching them, something that will kill them if they don't get out of the forest and get help. Jake (Jack Huston), the instigator of the trip and self-confessed mushroom expert. Tara (Lindsey Haun), is his sometime girlfriend; Troy (Max Kasch), is a would-be martial arts devotee; Holly (Alice Greczyn), is his quirky girlfriend; Bluto (Rob Hoffman), is the Jock of the group, and his girlfriend, Lisa (Maya Hazen), is the resident glamour girl. Together they will embark on a journey that will test not just their friendship but their sanity
There's a lesson in this movie - never eat wild mushrooms that you find in the woods while on a camping trip with your friends...especially mushrooms with black caps! Tara later found that out...and one is all it took. I like the line that Jake said at the beginning of the movie, "No one has the same trip". As Tara later discovered, that couldn't have been more true - the strange visions she had, being able to see things, terrible things, before they happened was eerie. And the story that Jake told around the campfire on that first night, about the haunted house - about the horrible things that would happen to the children there, and the insane monk behind it - was strange. The deaths of the friends (at the hands of the insane monk or someone else?) were a bit bloody and gory, especially for poor Bluto - he may have been on a "trip" but he shouldn't have walked up to that creepy abandoned car...that looked painful! After everyone had been seperated and killed, the scenes when Jake, Troy and Tara met up at the abandoned house was even more creepy. I liked how empty and abandoned it looked, that was great. But poor Troy...he didn't make it out alive and after jumping out of the window and breaking his leg, I'm surprised that Jake managed to. However, he didn't survive for very long. The ending had me a little stumped...after what happened in the ambulance - was it the insane monk, the feral boy in the woods, or the two insane hunters that lived in the cabin that were responsible for the all the deaths? Or was it actually Tara herself?
(One funny moment in the movie - the talking cow that Bluto came across!)
Thanks for posting this, I really liked it :)
