A Meeting Place For Everyone That Loves Horror Movies And Halloween Topics

Tonight's movie is titled "The Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn". Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgement. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Enjoy tonights movie :)

Tonight's movie is "The Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn" (1987 Rated R) A sequel to The Evil Dead. Ash takes his girlfriend Linda to a secluded cabin, and plays back a professor's tape recorded recitation of passages from the Book of the Dead. The spell calls up an evil force from the woods which turns Linda into a Deadite, and threatens to do the same to Ash. When the professor's daughter and two locals show up at the cabin, the night turns into a strange battle withweapons and in the end magic in a way that sets up a plot for The Evil Dead 3

It is funny when Ash uses that book to help keep his evil hand from escaping! What a perfect title!

I like that bit of subtle humor with the book, "A Farewell To Arms". Evil Dead isn't as funny, it just gets more silly.

Poor Ash...he just can't seem to catch a break, can he? A seemingly abandoned cabin, in the middle of the woods...but the cabin isn't abandoned and neither are the woods. If only Ash and Linda hadn't listened to Professor Knowby's tape recording...then Linda wouldn't have become possessed and Ash wouldn't have had to "kill" her. The scenes after Ash's hand becomes possessed (when Linda bites it) are funny, especially when he and the hand are battling it out in the kitchen and after he traps the hand and places the books on top of it ("A Farewell To Arms" is appropriate!). Then Annie, Ed, Jake and Bobby Joe think Ash killed Annie's parents and lock him in the cellar...with Henrietta. Luckily for Ash, they manage to save him just in time. Poor Ed, and later Bobby Joe and Jake, they aren't so lucky...but thankfully, after the demon possesses Ash and he see's Linda's necklace, he becomes "normal" again and convinces Annie he's "o.k." now. I like the later scenes with Henrietta - thankfully, Annie manages to distract her by singing the lullaby and Ash takes care of her with his awesome shotgun and chainsaw. Even then, he doesn't really catch a break. After reciting the passages from the pages saved from the root cellar, and Annie is stabbed by Ash's evil hand, he gets sucked through the vortex and lands in the medeval world. I love this movie ~ it's great!
