Halloween Horrors

A Meeting Place For Everyone That Loves Horror Movies And Halloween Topics

Tonight's movie is titled "Lady In White". Some of the movies that I've found have some nudity or horror movie style violence in them. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing for some but use your own good judgement. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may want to turn up the brightness on you computer screen. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. You may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it).... Enjoy tonights movie :)

It was a good story and interesting that it was told by Frankie as an adult, telling about an event that had happened to him as a child. The ongoing battle between grandma and grandpa about him smoking cigarettes, plus the stern nun scaring away the dogs was funny. Having no gore worked well, too.

It was a good story in a lot of ways, and it had some pretty good humor thrown in for good measure. It reminds me of the story The Halloween Tree in a way, being that it centered around Halloween, kids and had no gore but a great story instead.

I liked the Fall scenes at the beginning of the movie and Willow Point seemed to be a busy town on that Halloween Day, with everyone going about their buisness. Frankie and Gino's bike ride to school was funny, especially when the dogs got scared that followed them got scared after the nun glared at them! Poor Frankie, though, falling into the wet cement. But I liked the story he wrote and read aloud in class later, about the monster in London. Sneaking back into school after it had let out for the day may not have been such a good idea, and the bullies locking Frankie in the cloakroom like that. The dream he had about his mother was sad and I can understand why he was scared, after seeing the ghostly murder then nearly being killed by the man who was choking him. The visions he had of flying through the air, and meeting the murdered girl Melissa at the cemetery was strange, and all she wanted was for him to help find her mother, appearing several times asking the same question (in his room playing with the toys, just before Christmas near the tree and to both Frankie and Gino in their room) . After being rescued by his father and the authorities, Frankie tried to tell them what happened but never could - even when resting at home, he kept being interrupted. Understandable why his dad was so emotional. The scenes inside the church were tense, after the arrest of the janitor for all the child murders - the way the one woman stood up and started venting and the janitor's wife collapsing from all the emotions. I was surprised when delivering greeting cards that Frankie followed the bullies to the "Lady in White" cottage, near the cliffs. At least the recluse woman saw them all leaving together. The bullies suddenly weren't so brave after the Lady in White appeared to them inside the cottage, then to Frankie too. You do find out, though, that Melissa is the daughter of the mysterious white lady. Gino didn't believe when Frankie said he saw the lady and also doesn't tell him he found the (killer's) ring after it was dropped in their room (when Frankie was opening the box with the greeting cards and typewriter). It was sad when the boys later discovered that Melissa may have been alive when she was trown over the cliffs to her death, and her mother - in grief - went over the cliffs, too. I was shocked at what later happened to the janitor, after he was released from jail...the upset woman from the church, going up to him in the car and acting as if she was going to apologize - but she didn't. Out of anger over what happened to her son, and thinking the janitor was guilty, she took out a gun and shot him and his wife. Some people, including Frankie's dad, thought he was innocent but that woman didn't think so. Unknown to Frankie, his brother was hard at work trying to solve who the class ring belonged to, going through the dad's trunk and his high school yearbook. I certainly wasn't expecting to find out who the killer actually was and knowing that Frankie was out shooting arrows with him, it's understandable why Gino panicked. And almost too late, Frankie discovered it too - when he heard "Uncle" Phil whistling the tune that Melissa had been singing in the cloakroom. I thought Phil had been killed by the recluse piano teacher (Melissa's aunt) after the chase through the woods to the cottage, but he wasn't and killed the woman later on - in the process knocking over all the candles and setting the cottage ablaze. Phil didn't grab Frankie to save him from the fire, he wanted to throw him over the cliffs and nearly suceeded (thankfully Frankie grabbed the tree root) but the Lady in White intervened and Phil went over instead. But he reappeared, once again trying to pull Frankie over, but after help arrived and Frankie was saved I was amazed that his dad tried to help pull Phil back up even though they had known each other for so long. But Phil let go, falling to the rocks below. In the end, it was great to see Melissa and her mother reunited! Some of the funniest scenes throughout the movie were grandma and granpa fighting over him smoking cigarettes. Thanks for posting this, I really liked it :)
