Halloween Horrors

A Meeting Place For Everyone That Loves Horror Movies And Halloween Topics

I've found a lot of movies on Youtube. I don't know if I'll put up a movie every single week or not but I do have quite a few films ready to show you. I'll be showing half of this film today and the other half on Saturday. Some of the movies that I've found have some mild nudity or horror movie style violence in them and other subjects that you may find objectionable. I will try to warn you ahead of time if there is something that might be disturbing but use your own good judgement. Also movies from YouTube tend to be a little darker in the dark scenes so sometime you may have to bear with that small problem. My posting this movie does not change any of the other rules and guidelines that are in place on Halloween Horrors. For example this is still a no nude picture site. Also I still request that people post around 3 blogs or videos at maximum in the video and blog areas. The reason I'm posting half of this movie here instead of just a few videos is to keep up interest in the movie and because posting videos this way will not prevent others from seeing the videos that have been posted by others. Also you may post videos in a blog but please make sure the movies are not too objectionable (if you have questions ask before you post - and please let me know when you plan to do it). The second half of this movie will be posted this coming Saturday night... Enjoy :)

This movie is titled "City of the Living Dead" (Internation English Title) and is also titled "The Gates of Hell" (USA Title) International release date 1980. USA Release May 1983 - Rated R in the USA for gore and violence (but no nudity)

Considering the first release of this film was 1980 (in Europe) it was a bit of a heavy subject for the time. One or two of the other movies I have lined up are that way but there are various topics and some of the movies will even be on the lighter side for those who don't like gore in movies. I try to please many Halloween types of people.

Great choice on the movie. I have to agree with Nova about the priest, and the scene in the van that almost made me sick and it's been a while since I've seen a movie that could do that to me. and as for the next half of the movie I am waiting impatiently to see it.

Actually I'm not sure if this tale was loosely inspired by a specific H.P. Lovecraft tale or merely inspired by Lovecraft tales in general. It has those sorts of ingredients, an evil leader, a book (the book of Enoch), evil emerging from an evil underground, an a doomsday event.

There's something sinister about that priest, as if he's seeking revenge for something...all those people, who are ancestors of Salem witch burners start having problems - the incidents in the bar, when the mirror breaks and the wall cracks...people dying (the scene in the van, when that lady dies...that WAS gory!) or that young man in the house who seems to be going insane. The reporter and the lady he rescued from the coffin - she knows something about these incidents. And the older lady who conducted the seance, she mentions something about a book. I did laugh, though, during the scene where the man sneaks into the mortuary to steal jewelry and gets his hand bit :) I can't wait to watch the rest of the movie, to see how it ends!
