Halloween Horrors

A Meeting Place For Everyone That Loves Horror Movies And Halloween Topics

We've had this particular activity before and it's pretty simple. There are two parts to this activity ((And please follow all the rules)). I will add the first question and someone anyone will answer that question <<and add a question of their own after they answer the question>> Please don't address a particular person with your question, just leave a question for anyone to answer after you have answered the question above. Try to answer the question at the bottom instead of answering a question in the middle of the list. Also observe the usual rules,.. no religion, questions about the afterlife gods, talk about blessings, rituals and so forth. and no sexual topics or other rude topics. The questions don't have to be horror, ghost, fright or Halloween related but occasionally that might be good too. Clear on the rules? Read them once and twice and get started with my question,. (Which Is Below)

I'll try a different question. What is the last horror film that you saw and did you like it ?

Reply to This

I just saw the film Breed a day ago. It's about these some people who find that the place they are taking their vacation in, is populated by killer dogs. It was a little predictable, but it had a lot of tense scenes and some surprises too.
what was the scariest horror film you ever saw?!

Reply to This

The scariest films that I've seen had more to do with the time that I watched them and my physical state at the time and whether it was late and whether I was overly energetic at the time. So the films that disturbed me the most was Poltergeist which I saw in the dark at the time of my birthday when I was 19 or 20 and The Exorcism of Emily Rose which I saw late one night in my room in the dark, which made me rather restless that night.
... Question: What do you think of graveyards. Do you know of one that you like ?

Reply to This

yes, there's a graveyard in Charleston, South Carolina at the Hugenot Church. it is such a peaceful, restful beautiful place.
I remember thinking, if a person's going to be dead they might as well be dead here!
My Question--
have you ever felt a ghostly presence, or sensed something out of the ordinary?

Reply to This

I have sensed several times an out of the ordinary experience. I have seen shadows pass by me i
n a room through my periphial vision. It's like they dart by very fast and then they are gone.

....Question~~ Do you think there are more ghostly experiences and sightings in older Countries like Europe as compared to younger countries like the US ?

Reply to This

Yes I do think there are more sightings in older countries simply because they were most populated for the longest times hence there were more deaths. I also think that other populations are more open to these things

~~~Question~~~? What will you be doing this Halloween?
Reply to This
Sketching a horror drawing for our end of the year contest. I need to finish that as soon as possible. Adding a prop again of some sort. Buying less candy though. Half of the houses in this general area are gone so there are less trick or treaters. I used to work in a 12 - 16 room 2 story haunted house but the haunted houses nearby are gone, (and it's a lot of full time work). I would dress up or make a mask but I worry about scaring the little kids who trick or treat. Maybe I could do something funny this year though. Little ones are easily scared and I don't want that.
..Question. What three movies that you would like to see added here on Halloween Horrors.
Reply to This
Death at Love House,the Exorcist and The Blob.
My Question: Are you still afraid to watch horror films alone at night in the dark?
Reply to This
I can add The Blob (the modern version - which is the one you're talking about I think). I've never heard of Death at Love House.
...Actually yes I still am sometimes. And that's odd. I don't believe in a lot of things and I made it halfway to black belt and I'm largely a rationalist. But especially if I'm tired or hyper I can be a bit afraid during a movie. Other than being a rational mind I'm also highly creative and imaginative. I definitely wouldn't want to meet the demons of my own mind.
... Question how many and what types of interests and activities do you have that are Halloween and horror related ?
Reply to This
A precise number would be very hard to give since horror and particularly Hallowe'en wind through almost every aspect of my life in some way. I also consider Hallowe'en and horror to be two different things although there is, of course, a lot of crossover between them.
For horror, I like scary and occult themed books, movies, t.v. shows and theater. I like graveyards and old abandoned places and anywhere that's said to be haunted. I played a ghost in a live action role playing game that ran for over three years and, as a kid, got every monster themed toy I could get my hands on.
For Hallowe'en, it is, of course, my favorite holiday. I've been haunting my mother's house in Westwood for, what will be this year, 35 years! My shows for the trick-or-treaters became original musical productions in 1990 and I've released one album of original Hallowe'en songs and have another due out this year. I collect all books, movies, and music that are specifically related to Hallowe'en. I could go on but my replacement just arrived at work. Oh yeah, my 16 month old daughter already loves Hallowe'en just from all the decorations around the house! AND I owned a hearse with the license plate OCT31PM for over 20 years.
My question is what is your favorite song and favorite movie that specifically revolve around or at least mention the holiday of Hallowe'en?
....For Halloween style songs,. Voodoo by Godsmack,. and Burn the Witch by Queens of the Stone Age,. and Dragula by Rob Zombie,. also Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) by Concrete Blonde fits the mood right,. oh also on more would be Nice Day for a Funeral by Overkill (it's a very dark creepy song that I love). The songs that actually mention Halloween are more gentle bright and Disney like.
....For movies that set me in a Halloween Mood there are more that revolve around the actual holiday of Halloween. Night of the Demons takes place on Halloween night. One Dark night also takes place on Halloween night in a Mausoleum. And The Halloween Tree is a great milder animated film that tells the story of things that make up Halloween through time travel (and we have that film here. Oh also Monster House also centers around Halloween as well.
....Question.. If you had infinite time and money and resources what way or ways would you celebrate Halloween if the sky was the limit ( Think Big ).
Reply to This
If the sky was the limit and I had unlimited wealth,I would buy a whole lot of homes in one area and fix them up to make them look old and creepy.I would then employ people to work in them,as a DJ in one because it would be a Disco only for lovers of Halloween and the conditions of entry would be to dress for the part.The other haunted house would act as a hotel and each room would have a different haunting taking place or it would have a theme like a murder and it would have bloodstained sheets and walls and carpets too.Another haunted house would contain a theme park with ghost trains and all sorts of things like that.You would be able to buy all types of Halloween type foods there too!I would buy the cars used on the series of the Addams family and The Munsters and people would be able to take rides in them around the park,like a taxi but the price of riding in them would be included in the entry to the park.one house would be converted into a restaurant and would have halloween foods.
My question:How and what sorts of things would you use to decorate your home for Halloween but keep it decorated 365 days of the year?
